Lufthansa Airbus A320neo "Hof" (D-AINU).
The Airbus A320neo family is an Airbus aircraft type in service since January 2016. The abbreviation "neo" stands for "new engine option". The A320neo replaces the existing Airbus A320, which is currently referred to as 'A320ceo' where 'ceo' stands for "current engine option".
Besides new engines, the modernisation programme also includes aerodynamic improvements, large curved winglets (sharklets), weight savings, a new cabin with larger storage compartments for hand luggage and an improved air purification system. Airlines have a choice between the CFM International LEAP-1A or the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines.
