This is a digitally produced collage of paintings by old Dutch masters, a unique combination, my homage to the city of Delft (in the Netherlands).
Balthasar van der Ast (1593/1594 -1657) was a Dutch painter. He painted the still life "Flowers in a Wan-Li vase and shells" depicted in this collage around 1640-1650.
In 1632, Balthasar moved to Delft, in the year of birth of another Dutch painter: Johannes Vermeer. Johannes painted his world-famous Girl with the Pearl Earring around 1665-1667. You can see glimpses of her in the golden picture frame in the background.
The vintage light bulb in this collage is from my private collection ;-)
