An atmospheric spring morning in Hallerbos, Belgium: the first rays of sunlight penetrate the sparse beech forest and illuminate the slender tree trunks and small islands of light on the forest floor. A delicate, blue-violet sea of wild bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) covers the ground and lends the scene an almost fairytale-like atmosphere. Thanks to the open aperture, the focus is on a tree trunk in front, while the background is softly blurred - a deliberate artistic effect that creates depth and subtly hints at the splendour of the flowers without overloading the picture.
