The mandrill looks like a monkey with wartime colours. It has huge fangs the size of a human's thumbs and usually lives in a group or harem, led by a dominant male. This lead male is the most colourful member of his troop, which consists mainly of females. He has distinctive blue, purple and red markings, a bright orange chin, whiskers on the side and a blue to light purple hind end. Despite its fierce appearance, the mandrill is still a shy animal and much of its lifestyle and behaviour remains a mystery to us. A mandrill grows about 63 to 81 cm long. source wikipedia
