Raffi Stepanian searches New York's gutters in the Diamond District in hopes of finding gold, diamonds and rubies. Armed with only two knives and tweezers, this 47-year-old man combs the streets of New York every day, finding wafer-thin bits of gold along the way. Enough for Raffi to live a decent life. Before starting as a treasure hunter in New York, Raffi worked as a gem setter and developed an eye for small, valuable treasures. Raffi has a good reputation in the Diamond district, where he resells the diamonds and other finds after thoroughly cleaning and polishing them.
