More than 8,000 soldiers are buried in this only American cemetery in the Netherlands. Most of them died during the liberation of the south-east of the Netherlands in W.O. II and the advance by Germany. The cemetery is visible far and wide through a thirty meter high tower. The cemetery's territory has been made available to the government of the United States of America for perpetual use.
