Marshweed (Jacobaea paludosa, basioniem: Senecio paludosus) is a perennial plant in the composite family (Asteraceae).
The plant grows to a height of 60-180 cm. The greyish-green, lacy, stiff, hollow stem stands upright. The line-shaped to oblong and long-tipped, 8-14 cm long leaves are usually grey-felted from behind and have a serrate leaf margin. The lower leaves are stalked and the stem leaves are semi-stemmed. The leaves are pointed upwards.
The plant blooms from June to August with yellow, 3-4 cm flowers and are 10-30 together in an umbel-like panicle. The head has 10-20 ribbon flowers. The winding leaves are glabrous or felt-like.
The fruit is a glabrous nut with yellowish-white to pale straw-coloured fruit fluff.
