The thick cables of the Martinus Nijhof Bridge in the A2 motorway near Zaltbommel and Waardenburg in Gelderland. This cable bridge or cable stayed bridge over the Waal is named after the poet and writer Martinus Nijhoff. The architecture of the bridge was designed by Combination BVW: BVN (later Oranjewoud), Veth (later IV Consult), de Weger (later Royal Haskoning)
