The Messerschmitt KR200 cabin scooter is a 3-wheeled microcar that was produced from 1956 by the German company Messerschmitt (later FMR Fahrzeug- und Maschinenbau Regensburg GmbH). It is known for its unusual, compact cab-like design with a protected cab and an open passenger area behind the front panelling. The KR 200 with its four variants KR 200 with Plexiglas bonnet, convertible saloon, roadster and sports was produced from 1955 to 1964. By the end of Messerschmitt production in 1964, it is estimated that only around 30,000 cabin scooters were built, and the number of vehicles still in existence today is correspondingly low at around 300 to 350 (as of 2015).
These cabin scooters are correspondingly expensive today, with prices starting at 30,000 to 45,000 euros. The FMR Tg 500 Tigers are many times more expensive. It is estimated that just over 300 vehicles were produced. In 1961, the purchase price was 3,725 DM and today it is around 150,000 euros and much more - if one is offered at all.
