De Vlinder (The Butterfly) is a windmill that was built in 1913 along the river Linge on the place of the burnt down smock mill. The mill is located in Deil on the Appeldijk 4, in the Dutch province of Gelderland.
The mill is a round brick corn mill of the post mill type with 2 pairs of grinding stones, each with a diameter of 140 cm. One couple consists of so-called blue stones and the other couple of artificial stones.
The mill burned down in 1931 and was restored in 1967, 1975 and 2001/2002. In 1931 the current upper axle was placed in the mill. In 1975 the sails were fitted with new steel rods.
The mill is still used for grinding grain. The hoisting of the miller's goods is done with a trailing crane.
