Photo of a soft image of a windmill in the mist during sunrise. A beautiful Dutch picture. The sky turns orange. Water can be seen in the photo, running toward the mill. On either side of the water is reeds.
Photo of the Noordermolen in Groningen during sunrise. It was quite foggy. Fortunately, the sky still colored orange for a while. The fog can be seen around the mill and near the reeds and water. It was very early in the morning. And the world was still at rest. Walking on the dike I had a nice view of the mill and the water around it.
The Noordermolen is a polder mill and is located in the Kardinge nature reserve, next to Leeuwenborg and Beijum, northwest of the city of Groningen. There has been a polder mill on this spot since 1712. The Noordermolen was built in 1888 to replace a mill from 1864, which had burned down that year due to a lightning strike. The year of construction of this mill is therefore 1888.
The photo was taken on November 12, 2022, Groningen, Netherlands.
