Minimalist Tableware

by Christian Ovís

‘Minimalist Cutlery’ depicts a fork, spoon and knife rendered in thin, dark lines against soft areas of colour. The fork is on the left, the broad oval spoon in the centre and the slender knife on the right. A large pale green area frames the cutlery against a soft blue background. At the bottom, a loose, undulating line connects the long handles.

The composition has a simple, sketch-like quality. The three objects are easily recognisable, but their outlines are free-flowing and not entirely symmetrical. The prongs of the fork provide small vertical accents, whilst the spoon creates a rounded counterform. The narrow knife completes the group on the right. The green area does not follow strict geometry, lending the whole a more playful feel. Dark lines and soft pastel shades maintain a clear contrast without making the image feel heavy.

This cutlery line art is ideal as wall decoration in a kitchen, dining room or breakfast nook. Light green and blue combine with white, wood and calm natural tones. The artwork complements a Scandinavian, minimalist or contemporary interior. A plain wall gives the simple shapes room to breathe. From a distance, you can recognise the three pieces of cutlery. Up close, the delicate contours, small irregularities and playful line at the bottom stand out.
