Work 1 of 4 from Mint Glass Still Life. A square bottle of mint-green glass stands in a wide path of light. The sun comes from the top left and draws a distinct shadow on the chalky wall. The thick glass distorts the light like water; look close and you can see tiny ripples along the bottom and a soft, green glow in the centre. The cork at the top adds something warm and natural.
This image was created during a quiet Saturday morning. Window open, tea on the table, and just the rhythm of sunlight shifting across the wall. No studio flash-just daylight and patience. I deliberately left a lot of "air" around the bottle, so that the work breathes and visually enlarges spaces.
Where does it fit? In a bright living room, above a sideboard in the hall or quite simply in the kitchen where you start your morning. The mint and sand green combine effortlessly with wood, linen, white and natural stone. The mood is calm, fresh and honest: a reminder that you don't need much to see something beautiful.
