The Mont Blanc group is an imposing mountain range in the western Alps in the border triangle of Switzerland, France and Italy.
Mont Blanc, the highest mountain peak in the European Alps, is part of this mountain range.
Although the massif has the highest peak in the Alps, only relatively few other peaks in this small and compact group rise above the four-thousand metre mark. No matter from which direction you look, the massif almost always towers impressively above all the other peaks.
In this case, the mountain massif is reflected in the mountain lake on the Col des Montets in the north-east of Mont Blanc.
