In this painting, a moose moves stately through a snowstorm. Its powerful head and antlers stand out against a background of swirling flakes, painted in soft shades of blue and white. The brushstrokes are short, rhythmic and give the illusion of movement, as if you were standing in the snow yourself. The moose looks calm and unruffled, a symbol of tranquillity in a savage environment.
This work gives a cool feeling, but also admiration for the animal that effortlessly adapts to the cold. It fits perfectly in an interior with natural or Scandinavian accents, or for someone with a love of forests, travel or northern wilderness.
The power of this painting is not in volume, but in presence. An eye-catcher that doesn't shout, but lingers.
My inspiration for creating a collection of animal portraits was inspired by my childhood, growing up among animals. My parents kept goats and sheep, among others, and that is where my love for nature and animal life was born. Each animal had its own character, its own look, its own energy, and it is precisely this diversity that still fascinates me. In these paintings, I try to capture not only the form, but especially the soul of the animal.
