A woman, full of desire, with her head raised and her hands placed above her chest, near her neck. Her back curved back. She stands in a posture full of surrender. Enjoying, slightly erotic in nature. Because of this, the painting radiates sensuality, lust and excitement.
At the same time, I feel surrender in this painting. The feeling that you are in freedom, and that worries are literally, dripping off you, as if you are in the shower or outside in the rain and you feel the pangs sliding off you. Therefore, at the bottom of the painting we also see the drops of the watercolor.
I think it is a beautiful and powerful image. Total vulnerability in all its power.
The same goes for the technique. The painting is made with east indian ink on watercolor paper. The deep black ink is incredibly powerful. In color, but also in quality. Once dried, it withstands rain and sunshine. But in addition, the ink portraits also exude something incredibly soft. Because of the texture of the paper, and because of the soft ink washes, where proportionally much more water is used and the colors are much softer.
The original watercolor with east indian ink has been digitally manipulated into this exciting image, in which not only black and white play a role, but also warm and soft tones such as brown, taupe and blue.
An exciting mix of old media and new media. Craft and digital art. Vulnerability and strength. A sensual woman full of abandon.
The watercolor, with these digital treatments, is a real fashion statement, as we see in fashion illustrations. A technique and atmosphere that inspires me tremendously.
