Avignon in Black and White.
Black and white photo in one of the many narrow and cobbled streets of the old city of Avignon, near the Popes' Palace. The winding street gets lost to the viewer's eye between the old buildings. The streets in the heart of Avignon are so narrow, that sometimes the only vehicles allowed are bicycles or motorcycles, but the ideal way to walk around the city is on foot.
Avignon is an ancient city in Provence, in the south of France, also known as the City of the Popes because the city was the seat of the papacy in the 14th century. Its historic center is also considered a Unesco World Heritage Site.
