the natterjack toad is an amphipod often encountered when in Extremadura. They are much more colourful there than in the netherlands. the pustular skin has green spots with red dots. across its back you can see its stripe from which it gets its name. The eyes are spectacular with whimsical drawings. I feast my eyes when I see one. with rain after drought, they often emerge. This specimen ran in front of me when I was wandering around Spain. Stones get warmed up when the sun has shone and in autumn you can see them there. The natterjack toad prefers open varied habitat where the ground is suitable for burrowing. On the edge of the mountains in southern Spain, it is suitable for it to live. They then hunt for insects.
