About the artwork

I regularly walk from the Breskens ferry towards the lighthouse. A lovely walk atop the dike where you pass several beach pavilions, always with a view of the beautiful black and white cast-iron lighthouse. This time, the cloud cover was quite impressive, glad I had my camera with me. This photo is the result.

The 1868 Breskens lighthouse is the oldest surviving cast-iron lighthouse in the Netherlands and one of the most iconic buildings in western Zeeuws-Vlaanderen . This octagonal, black-and-white painted tower was built in 1866-1867 to a design by Dutch architect Quirinus Harder.

Lighthouse New Sluis stands on the seawall at the entrance to the Westerschelde, has a height of 28.4 metres and has five floors. It is part of a series of lights that mark the end of the Scheldt and guide shipping traffic between the North Sea and Antwerp.
In 2011, the lighthouse was decommissioned and demolition was imminent. Thanks to the efforts of the Breskens Lighthouse Foundation, the national monument was completely renovated and opened to visitors in 2015.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
