In Nomad in the Desert, the lens captures a lone nomad wandering, shrouded in a white robe, through the warm sands of Oman. The soft lines of the dunes undulate to the horizon, where the shades of the setting sun fade from gold to pastel pink. There is no sound, no hurry, just the silence that outweighs words.
My inspiration for this work came from a fascination with the infinity of the desert: a place where man becomes small, but his thoughts large. The sculpture tells of peace, introspection and the power of simplicity. In the shadow of the mountains and the softness of the light, the traveller finds himself, in the middle of nothingness, and therein lies everything.
