With some regularity I have seen aurora borealis pictures, just from the Netherlands.
Most of them are photographic, i.e. not visible to the naked eye, but visible on a photo (a camera sensor with a bright lens and longer shutter speed is after all more sensitive to light than the human eye).
I've never made a serious attempt before, but with the updates that kept on coming this day, it couldn't be otherwise or this would be my first time.
And so I drove into the polder in the evening, armed with camera on tripod and searching for a nice setting. And that turned out to be not for nothing, even at dusk the aurora borealis came through, and around midnight it was a spectacular show that took place not only in the north but almost all around you. Even with the naked eye, some of it was visible.
An incredibly beautiful experience, of which hopefully more may follow!
I am outside whenever possible: on foot, on my motorbike or in the boat. Living on the edge of the Biesbosch, I can often be found there. But we also like to travel, as -for example- the photos from Thailand show.
