Field boundaries in Italy are usually quite subtle, often just small ditches or a low row of hedging. The one I discovered here was something else entirely. These huge slabs of rock have been painstakingly placed to form a boundary wall of stone. Each slab is larger than me and the wall must have been a real feat of construction.
