About ‘Number 7 on the Springboard’ by KRAB

Water polo is not a graceful sport. It is raw, physical and fast — full of power beneath the surface of the water, where no one can see everything. This surreal fashion portrait is inspired by that world and by a personal memory: playing water polo myself in the past, wearing the number 7.

The woman sits calmly on the white diving board at the swimming pool, but her demeanour tells a different story. On her head she wears a white water polo cap bearing the number 7. The grey-blue outfit, black gloves and dark pumps lend her an elegant, almost cinematic air. The black feather collar adds drama and movement, like an echo of the intensity of the game.

At the same time, the bubble of chewing gum breaks the solemnity. This small, playful detail gives the image its unique character: bold and refined, controlled and rebellious. The soft blue-green wall and light tiled floor subtly evoke the atmosphere of a swimming pool. The pink bag adds an unexpected feminine touch alongside the powerful styling.
