Something special always happens in my little garden - the arrival of a nuthatch. This lively bird, with its blue back and rust-red underside, deftly hopped from branch to branch. It was fascinating to see how the nuthatch could move both up and down along the tree trunk, something few birds can do so well. He was clearly looking for food, searching the bark for insects and seeds. The nuthatch's visit brought another touch of wilderness and wonder to my own little piece of nature.
