This picture was taken at the old port area (Porto Antico) of Genoa in Italy.
The city on the Mediterranean coast has completely renovated this area and made it a tourist attraction.
Pictured is an old port crane with the Biosfera, a glass sphere containing a humid mini-ecosystem with tropical plants, butterflies and birds, in the background.
On the right, the rod system (Il Bigo) by which a circular enclosed cabin lifts you up to 40 metres high for a great view of the port. Designed by Renzo Piano, the famous Italian architect.
There is plenty to see and experience and therefore an attraction for young and old alike.
In the foreground, the shade provides a nice fillip to this lively port area.
