About ‘On the beach, Périclès Pantazis’
"Périclès Pantazis (Greek: Περικλής Πανταζής) (Athens, 15 March 1849 - Brussels, 25 January 1884) was a Greek painter.
He received his first art education at the art school of his hometown. It was in Paris, however, that he became acquainted with Impressionism. It was the Barbizon painter Antoine Chintreuil who taught him to 'read' Gustave Courbet and Eugène Boudin.
This painting shows children playing in the sea.
