We are on our way to Monument Valley. Left and right and on the horizon, huge rock formations. The road towards them is long and straight. At the time the photo was taken, there are no cars on the road. The landscape is empty as is the road disappearing in the distance. Sun and clouds alternate, varying shades of reddish-brown in the landscape. The emptiness of this landscape is overwhelming. Although appearances can be deceiving, as it is a busy area.
