About ‘Out in the autumn sunshine’ by Lisanne Keijzer

Autumn is perhaps my favourite time of year for photography, just as it is for many photographers. As the sun gets lower in the sky, you get stunning side lighting and the colours of the changing forests are a feast for the eyes.
I came across this scene whilst out for a walk in a woodland near my home. I think it’s a split beech nut, but I’m not entirely sure.
Perhaps a squirrel has stocked up on winter provisions but left the nut’s husk behind, right in the spot where a bit of light filters through the trees.

You can see the coolness of autumn in the almost blue shadows on the leaves, but the sun is providing the last bit of warmth on the nut.

For me, it’s the perfect feeling of autumn, with the chill in the air, the last warm rays of sunshine and a cosy feeling because the scene is so close by.

I hope you can enjoy my little slice of autumn.
