About ‘'s, red-striped dahlias’ by Lisanne Keijzer

I have a particular fondness for dahlias's. Dat is begonnen met mijn opa, die voor de hobby dahlia'. My mother took over the growing from me, collecting more and more different varieties, and now it’s my turn. My mother and I regularly visit dahlia gardens, including this one in the province of Gelderland.

There are so many different varieties of dahlia's – ranging from colours to flower shapes to leaf colour – that there’s always something new to see. I found this dahlia with the red stripes particularly striking.
The dahlia in the foreground is showing off all its splendour, but the dahlia in the background "kijkt" is facing the other way, as if there’s much more to see over there.
