This spring they are back in abundance, Poppies! Beautiful roadsides full of exuberantly flowering brightly coloured orange-red Poppies. I love them so much! Did you know that all the rain in spring contributes to the exuberant blooms? The more rain, the more and the prettier they bloom.
I made an attempt to depict Poppies in bloom with this digital watercolour. They are at their most beautiful in the wild, of course, but these slightly abstracted flowers will be permanent in your interior!
The petals of Poppies are almost transparent, which can be depicted well with watercolour due to the transparency of the paint.
The lines are laid down in one flowing movement, a so-called one-line drawing or continuous drawing.
It is minimalist, like the flower itself, with the warm, a somewhat softened colour giving a summer feeling. It would fit well as an eye-catcher in a minimalist interior, Scandinavian or Japandi.
My work is inspired by nature, flowers and plants, all the beauty Mother Earth gives us. My personal tribute! Let's take care of all that beauty, and use it with respect and love, nature can do very well without us, we not without nature

I was always drawing ー as early as primary school, the margin of my notebooks was full of scribbles that didn't have much to do with what was supposed to be there. A lot of nature, especially flora.
