About "Painted Dessert, Arizona."

About the artwork

The Painted Desert is an area of desert-like badlands in the northern part of the U.S. state of Arizona. The Painted Desert covers an area of about 378 km² and extends eastward from the Grand Canyon to Petrified Forest National Park. The Painted Desert owes its name to the colored (sand) stone formations that take on red, purple and brown hues, depending in part on the incidence of light that changes throughout the day. The action of erosion has exposed various layers of the rocky soil that help geologists determine the geological history of the area. Many different types of fossils have been found in the desert including dinosaur footprints and, especially in Petrified Forest National Park, petrified wood. Indian tribes such as the Hopi and the Navajo have inhabited the area for about a thousand years. The Spanish, who explored the Painted Desert in the 16th century and later, called it el desierto pintura. Much of the area is on the Navajo Reservation, and residents use the red clay of the desert to craft souvenirs that are sold to tourists.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
