Central to this picturesque image are the famous Rotterdam Cube Houses, also known as blaak Forest, designed in the 1980s by architect Piet Blom. On the left we see the Pencil residential towertower and in the background a part of Monkey Rock, both also designed by Blom. On the far right a part of Blaak railwaystation can be seen and in the background there's another Rotterdam icon: the Nieuwe Maas river.
This image was originally a photo and by applying filters, textures and other effects it was transformed into an impressionistic painting.
