The leaves of the palms are either fan-shaped (fan palms) or pinnately divided (pinnate palms). Rarely, undivided or only at the tip bipinnate leaves occur.[1] The very large leaves of the palm family can reach 4 m in diameter in the shade palm and up to 20 m in length in Rapharia species.
