Purnululu National Park has hardly been discovered by tourists and has only existed as a National Park since 1987. Still, this National Park is not overrun by travellers as it is not very accessible due to its dramatic geological forms.
The natural beauty in this park gives you the same mystical feeling that you get at Uluru and that you should, despite the lesser accessibility, experience once. The plateau of Purnululu National Park is around two hundred metres higher than the surrounding area. Erosion has created valleys and ravines and the various layers of rock have the most spectacular colours.
This park is so unique that it is now on the World Heritage List. The most famous part of the park is the Bungle Bungle Range: a group of three hundred meter high rocks in the shape of beehives with orange-black stripes. These cannot be climbed, as the sandstone is rather fragile.
I've been doing photography since I bought an SLR from my first paycheck. Favorite subjects are landscapes and birds. But also for other subjects I like to take on the challenge of capturing these special ones.
