The Schoolmaster at Westzaan is the last paper mill in the world to operate on wind power. The mill stands on the dead-end old Guisweg and on the Gouw. The mill was originally built in 1692 and is still in daily use today.
The Schoolmaster makes Zaansch Bord, a sturdy paper in various sizes and colours. Cards are made with it and it is used by bookbinders and artists.
