About ‘Paris Metro 1970’ by Timeview Vintage Images

Waiting for the subway in Paris. Franklin D. Roosevelt Station is located on subway lines 1 and 9, in the luxurious 8th arrondissement on Avenue des Champs-Élysées. The station got its (new) name after World War II, as a tribute to the already-deceased American president. In 1957 the building was completely renovated. A brand new technique was used on the platforms: glass building blocks. You'll see this on the right side of the picture. The People on the platform show us what time we look back to: the seventies. Wider than this, the pant bottoms never were. Perfect street photography of an era. Colorful, optimistic, free. (Collection Timeview, Paris, Paris Metro 1970)
