About ‘Pedra de Lume, Sal, Cape Verde’ by Alfred Kempe
The salt mine from which the Cape Verdean island of Sal takes its name is a kind of Dead Sea in miniature. The high salt content of the pools makes you float more on than in the water. The mine dates from the late 18th century and still produces salt.

Travelling and photography are two hobbies that combine extremely well. The best results are shown annually at the photo exhibition of the photo club I belong to. At home, the photos hang on the wall all year round, and who knows, maybe soon yours too! In recent years, I have been making AV presentations of my travels. On display annually at the exhibition and continuously on my website and on flickr.com.
