A petrified tree towers in the white clay of the Dodevlei / Deadvlei. The trees petrified hundreds of years ago as the red sand dunes cut off the annual water supply.
Along with the famous Sossusvlei, the Dodevlei lies in Namib-Naukluft National Park in Namibia. This park covers much of the Namib Desert.
