More than 100 years ago - in 1913 - the Klammweg up to the plateau of the Pfaffenstein was opened up. It was the third possibility to climb the table mountain, because already from the middle of the 19th century paths to the summit and even huts and soon massive stone buildings were established to serve visitors. Carl Gottlob Jäckel, to whom the Jäckel Rock is dedicated today, played a significant role in the work and planning.
