Close up of lots of shells on the beach. The whole photo is filled with them. The shells are criss-crossed, there are hundreds of them.
They are mostly cockles, upside down and right side up. In blue, gray, white and orange. Not everything is sharp, the focus is in the middle of the photo, around which the shells become increasingly blurred.
We see nothing of the surroundings, but we know that it must be on the beach, with sand and sea. The photo was taken near Westenschouwen in Zeeland, in the Netherlands.
The sun is shining which gives extra contrast to the picture, with lots of shadow play.
