Discover the power of imagery with my new photo series depicting proverbs and sayings. While feel-good photos certainly have their place, I believe that good photos do not always equal feel-good images. This series explores the deeper and often more complex emotions associated with linguistic expressions.
In this series, proverbs like "going through the wringer" and sayings like "a spider getting under the skin" are depicted in a visually impressive way. Through photography, abstract concepts and linguistic expressions become tangible, conveying the meaning of words in a new and engaging way. These images evoke strong emotions and show how powerful visual language can be.
Photography allows us to create a world where the boundaries of imagination are explored. This project offers a challenge and allows us to explore meanings that are sometimes difficult to put into words. The series invites viewers to discover the nuances of the Dutch language and appreciate the depth of our proverbs and sayings.
While feel-good pictures certainly have their value, there is also a lot of meaning in depicting more complex and intriguing concepts. I take up this challenge with great enthusiasm in my current project, striving for images that are both visually appealing and substantively profound.
