About "Pier, seaside resort of Binz, island of Rügen"

About the artwork

An early January morning light envelops the pier in the seaside resort of Binz in a melancholy silence. The long, unlit bridge stretches defiantly into the impetuous Baltic Sea, its silhouette silhouetted against the lead-grey sky. Clouds hang heavy and low, their sombre shapes reflected in the calm but ominous-looking water. The cold sea air, filled with a salty sharpness, bites gently into the skin and lets the breath rise in fine clouds.
The bridge itself looks like an abandoned path, a passage into the unknown. Each of its wooden planks tells of the countless steps it has borne over the years. The rough wood bears witness to stormy nights and peaceful sunsets, to the fleeting moments of summer and the quiet hours of winter.
The horizon blurs in the twilight, where sea and sky merge seamlessly. A light swell gently laps the pillars of the bridge, while the occasional cries of seagulls break the quiet melancholy of the morning. There are no people to be seen, only the irrepressible nature and the unstoppable passage of time.
At this moment, the world seems to stand still, frozen in the grey of early January, and the Binz pier becomes a symbol of stability and calm in a restless world. Here, on the threshold between land and sea, there is a timeless beauty that is overwhelming in its simplicity.
