Pink Woolly – a cute poodle in a pink jumper

by Bianca ter Riet

A charming portrait of a dog that combines gentleness, warmth and character. This sweet little apricot-coloured poodle looks straight at you with big, sparkling eyes. Its soft, thick curly coat and pink knitted jumper give the portrait a cosy and charming feel. The warm colour of its coat really comes to life against the deep petrol-blue background.

This unique animal portrait is an evocative example of figurative art with a playful and contemporary feel. The combination of apricot, soft pink and deep turquoise creates a harmonious colour contrast. The visible brushstrokes and the attention to the soft texture of the coat give the artwork a painterly depth.

The painting makes a beautiful wall decoration for dog lovers and anyone with a soft spot for small, adorable four-legged friends. It fits beautifully into a modern, rustic or romantic interior and instantly brings a touch of cheerfulness and warmth into the home. It also makes a special choice as a gift for a poodle lover or dog owner.

My inspiration: As an artist, I am often moved by the small details that make an image special. A dog’s gaze, the softness of its coat and the personality that shines through in a portrait. With this piece, I particularly wanted to capture that sweet, almost mischievous character.

I deliberately chose a warm combination of apricot-coloured shades and soft pink, set against a deep petrol blue. It is precisely this harmony and interplay of colours that make this portrait so appealing to me. The result is a loving dog portrait that not only depicts a dog, but above all evokes a feeling: warmth, affection and a smile.

A small portrait with a big heart!
