My adaptation of an original artwork by Ohara Koson (1877-1945). He was a Japanese painter, and printmaker part of the shin hanga movement, specialising in kachō-ga.
I digitally edited his portrait of a Japanese plague bird on a branch, placed it on a red background and added additional branches and a beautiful sun. She wanted to preserve the original beauty of Ohara Koson's work while making it a little more modern and adding some Hotel Chic to it.
The stylists at Art Heroes call my art style ‘Art with a Wink’. And I couldn't agree more. Life is serious enough as it is, don't you think? ;-)
I mainly make surrealist artworks and collages, because in those artstyles I can so wonderfully unleash my creativity and unbridled..
