This tower stands near the drowned village of Koudekerke. The village was a prosperous Zeeland village several hundred years ago. The village was situated on the Oosterschelde estuary. The village disappeared. However, the tower remained standing.
The tower is currently owned by Natuurmonumenten. From the tower, you can see into the wide surroundings.
This photo exudes power. To think that this is the only building of several villages that were drowned near Schouwen-Duiveland around 1550.
