Peneda Geres is Portugal's only national park and located in the far northwest of Portugal, close to the Spanish border. The mountainous area is known for its traditional villages and cultures and for the beautiful waterfalls that can be found throughout the area. Some quite easy but some also only through brisk walks. In this picture you see the Poco Azul waterfall. This small waterfall with its beautiful lake is not often visited because it is more difficult to reach. It lies off the usual route through the national park and you have to walk for a few hours. The waterfall itself is not much but the pool in front of it is definitely worth it. Really worth a visit and as a bonus you can also take a splash in the clear water of the pool.
