MYSTERIOUS ART OF POSTERED WALLS
Decayed, torn - and yet beautiful. Marked by the rain, whipped by the wind, exposed to the sun. Touched by fingers, carelessly abandoned, barely noticed in passing - and yet: beautiful. Art lives within us.
It is often billboards or tiny surfaces that I bring to the centre of attention through carefully chosen perspectives.
My interpretations of images are intended to serve as a stimulus - my aim is to awaken fantasy and imagination and to promote dialogue about the work of art, the photograph.
Description:
Poetic Sediments is a work from the series of so-called Scratch Pictures - photographs of urban billboards that are created by deliberately exposing, removing and combining fragmented layers of paper and text.
This picture is like a poem laid bare: Italian verses, architectural symbols and typographic fragments merge into a multi-layered visual narrative. The jagged cracks and colour gradients in pink, green and black form a tense structure reminiscent of geological sedimentary layers - only here it is language, history and advertising that have overlapped.
The composition draws attention to the ephemeral in public space - and transforms it into art. The use of digital sound techniques intensifies the texture and colour effect, while the abstract legibility of the text fragments opens up new interpretations.
The pictorial composition thrives on the tension between the visible and the concealed - between time and decay.
Art - the sensualisation of the mind.
For many years, photography has been my life companion and I work on various projects. Enjoy the selection of my pictures that I present here for you... Read more…
