Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

Limited edition: 50 pieces MYSTERIOUS ART OF POSTERED WALLS Decaying, torn – and yet beautiful. Marked by rain, whipped by wind, exposed to the sun. Touched by fingers, carelessly abandoned, barely noticed in passing – and yet: beautiful. Art lives within us.

Often it is billboards or tiny surfaces that I bring into focus through carefully chosen perspectives. My interpretations of images are intended to serve as inspiration – my aim is to awaken imagination and creativity and to promote dialogue about the artwork, the photograph.

Description: Poetic Sediments is a work from the series of so-called Scratch Pictures – photographs of urban billboards created by deliberately exposing, removing and combining fragmented layers of paper and text.

This image resembles an exposed poem: Italian verses, architectural symbols and typographical fragments merge into a multi-layered visual narrative. The jagged tears and colour gradients in pink, green and black form a tension-filled structure reminiscent of geological sediment layers – except that here it is language, history and advertising that have overlapped. The composition draws the eye to the transience of public space – and transforms it into art. The use of digital sound techniques intensifies the texture and colour effect, while the abstract legibility of the text fragments opens up new interpretations. The image composition thrives on the tension between the visible and the hidden – between time and decay. Art – the sensualisation of the mind.
