About the artwork

Pont-Audemer, a picturesque town in Normandy, France, is located in the Eure region, some 30 kilometres from the coast and close to Rouen. This charming town, known as the 'Venice of Normandy', is known for its idyllic canals and half-timbered houses built right on the waterfront. This atmospheric photo shows one of Pont-Audemer's remaining canals, surrounded by beautiful facades and overhanging balconies that take you back to the Middle Ages.

Pont-Audemer's canals were originally built for the tanneries, which were an important source of income for the town for centuries. Its convenient location on the Risle River made Pont-Audemer an ideal location for this craft industry. The hides could easily be rinsed and processed thanks to the canals, which channeled the river's water through the town.

Today, Pont-Audemer is a quiet, picturesque town that has retained its medieval charm. The canals are still present, albeit now mainly as an atmospheric addition to the streetscape. You will find winding streets, cosy cafés and an authentic French atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely stroll along the waterfront. Pont-Audemer attracts visitors who want to discover its rich history and beautiful architecture, offering a photogenic setting full of romance and history.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
