The Poodoo is a genus of two South American deer species. They are the smallest deer species in the world. Since 2009, both these species are considered endangered by the IUCN. The name Buddha is derived from the word Mapuche, which is the name of a native people from Chile and Argentina. The Buddha is active at night as well as during the day. Unlike most deer, the powdow is a solitary animal. It's a herbivore and it can do without water for quite some time.
